Have you ever heard of a place called Talihina, Oklahoma? It's a small town that is nestled in between the Kiamichi Mountains and the Ouchita Mountains. The town itself isn't much but this place has beauty all around just waiting to be explored. During this blog I am going to explore the town of Talihina, through the pictures I have captured over this past year.
This is one of my favorites. A heavy rain had just fallen and the spillway was overflowing with water. I had to get down there as quick as I could to capture this shot.
This is another shot of the spillway facing the opposite direction of the first picture above. This was taken around the end of fall, the beginning of winter. The sun had shined just right through the trees to get that perfect reflection. I think it turned out pretty cool.
I thought this was a cool shot of the sunset. Talihina had some wonderful sunsets.
I call this one "Angel Wings in the Sky". This was taken at Lake Carl Albert in Talihina.
Another nice sunset taken at Lake Carl Albert.
Another beautiful sunset. This place holds a ton of beauty.
A random guy fishing. I wonder if he knew I took this picture of him.. I think it turned out pretty cool looking.
I caught the sun on this one.
This old barn holds a lot of history. I enjoyed driving past this barn everyday when i lived in Talihina.
I thought this was cute. Waddle on, waddle on little geese.. Plenty of wildlife around if you just look.
Found this big girl out one day taking pictures.
This was a sunrise one morning. This is highway 271.
The storms could get pretty nasty in Talihina. This was highway 271 going towards Talihina. It was such a beautiful drive.
Here is some rotation i captured with my phone. This storm blew in fast and quick.
This blog was inspired by this song Talihina Sky by Kings of Leon. They actually come back to Talihina every year for a family reunion. They grew up around Talihina for part of their life.
Talihina wasn't the best place to live but it did have a lot of things about it that I will always miss. The beauty that surrounds this area is insane and I would go back again and again for a road trip.
